I don’t mind loading the dishwasher but I hate unloading it. I save that job for the kids but they don’t care for it much either. We all agreed that the hardest thing about unloading the dishwasher is finding a place to put the clean dishes. They weren’t fitting in the cabinets! It’s getting easier now since I got rid of lots this week!
My daughter moved out and told me that she needed kitchen stuff. I had no problem helping her out! In one day, I was able to fill up a huge bucket of stuff for her. It was so easy and she couldn’t believe how much I was giving her. I was shocked myself and I hope I don’t regret giving so much away. I don’t think I will. There’s still plenty of things in there.
Another Santa hat and some worn out boots, a pitcher, dried up paint and a candle. There’s also a couple little flower pot and a weather thing. There’s a couple other things too that make it 18 for the day.
I think that I decided that I need to get to day 112 by the end of the year. That will make 2018 things. It’s going to be more than that by the end of the year but I’ll change it up once I meet that goal. I’m over half way there and it’s getting super easy now. I got rid of a lot more today but I will post those over the next few days.
I’m still going through things in the basement and have found lots of toys to get rid of. I think this little cloth bag with the arms and legs has been around since I was a teenager. It’s been packed away for years and I didn’t miss it at all so I’m finally getting rid of it. The rest is all just a bunch of junk. 18 more things gone!
I loved the Leap Pads and I’m sure that I still have a couple around but we always had a problem with them. The books were never with the cartridges which were never with the Leap Pads. I even had a few cool cases for the kids but for some reason, the parts were never together.
Things have been a little bit slow here in the picture department but I’m trying to keep up with it. The stuff is coming out of the basement faster than I can count. A lot has just been thrown away but that’s okay with me. There’s still plenty left to count! I was planning on having a free table last weekend but we got too busy with a marching band competition. I’m hoping to do it this Saturday but we’ll see. I’m not feeling so great tonight.
I have lots and lots of buckets of toys and I’m getting rid of a bunch of them. This one was full of books, movies, doll clothes, and little tiny toys. I have lots of random parts too. The fact that I’m getting rid of any of these is amazing! What’s even more amazing is this isn’t it. Lots more to come!
These dolls are not creepy dolls. I actually like these dolls but for some reason they look really dirty, especially the Precious Moments doll. That one was always one of my favorites but it has a bunch of stains on it. I would’ve kept the Cabbage Patch Kid but I figured as long as I was getting rid of the others, that one might as well go too. It has weird wirey hair anyways.
There’s a bunch of small toys that I’m getting rid of too. It’s amazing how many times that I’ve gone through these things and decided to keep them. This time, even seeing them in the picture doesn’t make me want to keep them. I’m perfectly okay with getting rid of them, I’m getting impatient with this process but I’m thankful it’s getting easier and I’m looking forward to having a manageable amount of stuff in my home.
Fun things here, especially the tracks! NeoPets, empty baby bottle and a cute little chipmunk (or squirrel?) are all getting booted out. The Dora view master is pretty fun and right in the middle is a Coco Hut from when we used to attempt to have hermit crabs. We failed every time and after the third one we gave up. There’s 3 things here that I have no idea what they are. The red round thing and then the 2 clear plastic pieces. The 2 clear things have something to do with needles for a sewing machine but that’s all I know. There’s also a cute little doll jacket, a folding pair of binoculars, and a notebook.
The Fun Tracks
My favorite thing here are those tracks. We used to have a couple sets and we would put them all together because they were like a puzzle. They came with little wind up vehicles. It was so much fun moving the pieces around and making different paths for the vehicles. It was fun having them but I don’t know where any of the cars, trucks, or trains are now so they’re pretty useless.
Hmmm… this is more stuff that has been sorted and sorted and kept before. It’s all so cute. I can’t believe I’m letting it go. This one might be tough but someone else will be able to love this stuff. Look at that adorable teddy bear! That little toy truck is really cool too because it talks and little people come in and out of it when you push different spots on it.
I love the little blue animal on the right. So cute! And who doesn’t love Grover? I’m surprised that my daughter doesn’t love that horse but apparently it’s a Braatz doll horse and that’s just not her thing. The pumpkin art was another tough one to let go but I have a picture of it now so I’m getting rid of it.
That’s it for this batch!
Too bad I’m not a doll connoisseur. Sometimes creepy dolls are worth money. There’s two grandmas who always used to give one of the girls these creepy dolls. They always told her that she should keep them because they would be worth money someday. Of course, me being Mom, and her being a kid, I guess I was expected to make sure they were taken care of. It might have been easier if either one of us actually liked the dolls even a little bit.
Creepy Doll on the Move
Over the years, I’ve packed and repacked them. Moved them to this bedroom or that bedroom. Took them to the basement and back upstairs again. I even moved them to an apartment she lived in for a few short months after high school. But now they’re back in my house again being moved from room to room again, sorted and resorted. I decided with this doll that I’m not going to feel guilty getting rid of them. She doesn’t want them. I don’t want them either and they are taking up space.
(Honestly, this doll isn’t quite as creepy as a lot of the others but this one has some moldy spots on her dress which automatically puts her in the creepy category.)
The Minnie Mouse Avon Earring Tree
This earring tree is cute and from the early 90’s. This brings back good memories but only a few. It doesn’t bring me joy and I’m never going to use it. There’s really no reason to keep it.
About the most useful thing in this lot is the heart basket. It even had stuff in it when I found it but I don’t have any place to put it right now. I don’t like it enough to keep it around any longer. Boy oh boy, this is getting easier by the day!!
