I’m not sure how I’m supposed to be cleaning up the yard in the snow. Today is the 10 day deadline for having all the branches cleaned up. Technically, I’ll be able to work on it all weekend because I’m sure the inspectors don’t work on weekends but the city dump is only open today.
It’s been a busy week but thankfully I got a few things done in the yard on a couple of days. Mostly picked up branches and some stuff that had blown into the yard. Even the branches are under the snow today. It’s supposed to be in the 50’s tomorrow and the snow should melt so I can work on that part, it’s the stuff that has to go to the dump that I’m worried about today. I know that I’m going to have to do it in the snow but I’m not looking forward to it. On a positive note, I’m sure there won’t be a line there today!
Not only is it snowing today but it’s cold too. It’s only 27 degrees and there’s a wind advisory starting at 10:00 a.m. which will bring the wind chill values down into the teens.
This is why I’m so frustrated that we got the dreaded letter now. I always clean up the yard in the middle of April but it’s just a little too soon right now. The grass is still starting to come in so all the walking around in the yard now is ripping it up and making mud. I can’t even burn any of the branches because they’re too wet. It’s been raining almost every day and now I can’t even see anything on the ground because of all the snow and it’s cold out there!
I should probably bundle up now and get outside to get some work done in the yard. I wonder if I have any hot chocolate that I can enjoy when I come in.
