It’s Day 21 of the 21 Day Decluttering Challenge and I’m not even close to being finished so it will continue on.  I’m sure people are sick of my pictures but it’s been very therapeutic for me.  I have to get this done and I’m trying to do it fast.  I’ve been almost obsessive about it, only taking time out for work and family events.

Here’s everything that I’ve gotten rid of today.  Thankfully it’s a pretty long list.  I still don’t understand where it all comes from and why it seems to be multiplying by the minute.

124 Things!

(Pics are below)

I have 3 big bags ready to go to the donation place.  I just can’t believe how little of an effect this has made.  I still don’t have the latest count because I’ve been working on it so late every night but I think it has to be over 800 by now.

As I wrote that, a beautiful thought went through my head – that’s 800 things that I will never have to pick up again.  800 less things to find homes for in my house.  Wow, that’s a lot less to take care of.  Maybe once the next 800 is gone, you’ll be able to see a difference in my house.  The way my living room looks right now, all 800 might come from that one room. I think I’ll be able to find another 800 on the front porch.

Time for the pics:

  • That is so awesome! We eliminated about 12,000 things last year. Counting made such a difference for us. We could set weird goals or just be amazed at the number of things removed. I actually counted every stinkin’ Barbie shoe – I spent enough time picking them up from the floor for years!

    Congrats again!!

    • Wow! 12,000!! That’s awesome! That’s such a huge number but I bet by the time I go through the whole house, I’ll be close to that. I’ll keep counting!
