For the last few days, I have been getting a few things done, a little bit at a time. It’s been more maintenance things than progress but maintenance at this point is something big. Garbage has been taken out, a few loads of dishes have been done, and you can still see my living room floor. Yay!!
My recent thyroid lab results were almost opposite of what I was expecting but I never know what to expect anymore. I feel very hypothyroid because life has been so difficult the last few weeks. But I was suspicious of being hyperthyroid because of the disorganization I’ve been feeling. Well, I’m neither. Both of the main thyroid tests came back in the “normal” range. I’m feeling far from normal.
I have been very stressed out lately which may be causing the fluctuations in levels. Lots of clutter in the house doesn’t help so I’ve had to do some stash and dashes. Or is it dash and stash? I can’t remember the saying. Anyways, it helps a lot to have a room where I can stash a lot of stuff until I’m ready to get back to decluttering.
I’m still far from done in my house but it’s okay. A few minutes of straightening up every day seems to be keeping everything at bay. It’s to the point where I’m not hiding with fear every time someone knocks on the door, afraid to open it because they might see the hoard. My twins sit in the living room with me once in awhile and watch TV and we even played some video games the other day. It used to be a favorite thing of ours to do but then when the hoard took over the living room, there wasn’t even room for us to play anymore.
It doesn’t have to be perfect all the time and working on it is getting more fun for me now that I’ve realized that. It’s not as stressful anymore because I know that it will never be “done”. It will always be a work in progress and doing a little bit everyday is enough if a little bit is all I can do.
Perfection is not the goal. That is great wisdom. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
Any progress (even maintenance and upkeep) is excellent! And glad to hear your test results were in the normal range as well. Keep on cleaning when you can and don’t worry about it when you can’t.
