About a week and a half ago, I bought a mold test kit. The results came back yesterday. They weren’t good at all. Now today, I’m in a panic. I knew the results would be bad but there’s something about seeing it in writing that makes it all real.
In a few days, I will post a little bit about what it says but right now, I’m just too nervous to look at it that good. Calling around for estimates was the first thing I did when I got home. It’s a good thing that I started getting rid of things when I did but this is still incredibly stressful.
I have someone coming on Friday afternoon. I’ll tell you all about what he says after he leaves. There’s another place that does free estimates but they haven’t called me back yet. If I hadn’t been decluttering all this time, I couldn’t have let anyone in. It’s still embarrassing but not like before.
I really don’t have any money for this but I have to be able to do something. I have no idea if this is going to cost $2,000 or $50,000. The mold seems to be hiding behind every corner so I think it’s going to cost a fortune.

really don’t freak too much! for years and years my hubby blamed the black stuff on the bathroom ceiling on smoke. seriously he claimed that the people who owned the house before used to smoke in the bathroom. really? and it just mysteriously appears? we’ve lived here for 10 years now. anyways, a friend came over and took care of it. bleach works wonders but he ripped out the ceiling and replaced it and then there is a special mold killing paint that he used.
