Now that I’m feeling a little better, there’s so much to get done! I’ve been sick for at least two months and was starting to go crazy not being able to get anything done.
Sometimes certain things need to get done in a certain order. When you’re doing 50 things at one time though, none of them seem to get done.
Picking priorities or The One Thing
Getting the horse project laptop ready to be picked up needs to be Number One.
Since that’s the priority, I got a great start on it last night. The laptop and backpack it goes in are both ready. I cleaned out all the extra papers and ribbons and supplies that didn’t need to be in there. I made sure the only thing in the notebook were actual notes that go with the laptop.
Tonight, I will start looking for the printers. They seem to keep getting lost since I don’t have a good place for them here at the new house. I think that’s the reason that I’m getting kicked out of my show computer position. I was always late because I couldn’t find something or other.
So, this is kind of a bittersweet thing that I need to get done and get out of my house and life.
I love 4-H but it can get intense and really stressful. Maybe I’ll talk about my 4-H experience as a parent in another post but for now, I need to concentrate on getting this stuff out of here.
Lastly, I need to find the papers from the last few years. There’s a form called a Coggins that you need to bring to every show. They need to be kept for 7 years. I have a great big folder full of them and I can’t wait to get it out of the house!
They complain about a lack of volunteers.
I’m really glad this stuff is going but I didn’t mind volunteering. I love helping with the computer at the horse shows so that the parents can help their kids with the horses. Apparently, it seems they didn’t feel the same way about me thanks to my disorganization so now they’ve lost another volunteer.
Oh well, now that I’m feeling a little better, there’s lots of other things to focus on.
