I Feel Like a Guinea Pig

My state now has no coronavirus precautions in place even though yesterday we had the most cases since the pandemic started. Why is everyone so excited? Lifting all of the restrictions isn’t the problem but I’m sure many of you will read it that way and lecture me about how the economy can’t handle it anymore.

The problem is that we aren’t even attempting to lift it in a safe manner. They say we are on paper but that’s not reality. It’s just another headline. People are acting as if nothing is wrong here. It’s as if there never was a pandemic. If you don’t feel safe going to work because you have all the risk factors, too bad, you have to go anyways because you won’t get unemployment.

More Trouble Ahead

We’re right on the heels of a second covid inspired disease that’s striking down children but oh well, they don’t matter either apparently. This whole pandemic is going to go down in the history books as the biggest bumble in the history of the planet. And no, I absolutely don’t think the president is the one who dropped the ball.

When he first started putting restrictions in place, he was criticized for doing so. We were told he was over reacting. Now that we’re seeing all these deaths, he didn’t do enough fast enough. These media people have to stop this nonsense. If he could’ve whisked everyone away to another planet where everyone was safe, it wouldn’t have been good enough.

I don’t know how people can make such harsh judgements using only headlines. Seriously people. It’s not like he was the only one making any decisions at all with no information from anyone. Do you realize that every president in the history of the United States has used guidance from ADVISORS? They’re not making decisions based on entertainment headlines like it seems everyone else in the world is these days. Just because you aren’t personally involved doesn’t mean it’s not happening and just because you read a headline, doesn’t mean you’re an expert.

The Goats

Media has always been trying to control everyone with their headlines but this is the worst I’ve seen it in my lifetime. They can put out anything and people are believing it because it’s on social media!! The actual story could be about pajama wearing goats in Timbuktu talking about a cure with little goblins in their pens but if the headline read “Goats may hold the secret to the cure” then I can guarantee you that there’s people who would go buy a goat just based off that headline. And then when their goat didn’t save them, they would blame it on the president because that’s what they’re being told to do.

Take care of yourself all on your own. You don’t need the shock media to tell you how to do that. Wash your hands. Social distance. Stay home if you’re sick. Don’t go near someone else who’s sick. Think for yourself. Just because you’re being told you can do whatever you want, doesn’t mean you have to run out and start licking toilet seats. (If you don’t know the reference, then congrats for not reading all the headlines!)

  • I understand your frustration. There has to be a “happy” medium between the science of infectious diseases and economic recovery. There doesn’t seem to be much discussion on finding the common ground. It’s unfortunate when you feel those in charge don’t seem to care about your well-being.

  • Speaking of goats…the scapegoat was the goat in ancient times that was sent out to the desert and legend has it that goat took all the misdeeds of the village with him. Hence the scape goat. The media is what it is and I just let it go. I;m Canadian and I think we have more faith in our government up here and the media is more laid back as well. Sort of like Canadians I guess. 🤣

  • The rich are squirming. The powers that be are balking at spending more money. Of course, we could run out of money. It would last longer and get us a foothold on this pandemic if we just cut out the billions, if not trillions spent on a 10+ year war.

I gave people more credit than I should have. Apparently we have lost the survival instinct.

  • Thanks for defending Pre Trump! He absolutely is doing the very best he can, with the info he has been provided.
We have to take care of ourselves, so right!!
We DO NOT want a nanny state, even tho it appears that a lot of people are calling for that.
Once it happens, and ALL our personal freedoms are gone, then they’ll wake up, and it will be too late. Our national frog will be boiled to death.
