Once in a while, it’s good to be a hoarder. Like now. In the wake of the coronavirus, toilet paper is a hot commodity. Of course, we accidentally bought an extra pack since there was such a mess we didn’t know how much we already had. So, we have 2 packs and that will hopefully get us through the next few weeks.
Coronavirus update: Here in the Midwestern U.S., WI in particular, all schools are closing this week. Colleges and universities included. There’s been 3 cases in my county. As of Monday, tomorrow, I’ll be working from home until further notice but we have to stop into the office at least once a week. I wish a few people would take things more seriously though. We were taking a trip out to the barn today, with no stops on the way, and were a little concerned with how business as usual everything seems. I know that we’re not supposed to panic but it doesn’t seem like anyone is heeding the warning of whats coming if we don’t change our ways.
Anyone else? How’s the situation where you are?
Glad to hear your bum will be dry!
Things are pretty quiet here. Maybe being in California makes a difference? Everyone we know is self-isolating. The grocery store yesterday was basically empty with just a few people. John was able to get cabbage, potato, milk, eggs, and bread. Many shelves are empty but it seems like the morning is the time to go. They are restocking during the evening and limiting how many of an item people can buy.
We’ve been able to get most things but I think there’s changes coming for everyone soon. Day by day for now. I hope we make it through this quickly!
agreed! This is definitely something different for all of us.
I was surprised how busy everything still was. The beach is more packed than I’ve ever seen it, probably because there’s nowhere left open to go! I don’t have any problem staying at home, but my husband is antsy and seems to need to run and do something 5 times a day. So I’m pretty much just chasing him around with the Lysol. lol
Same here! And my son too! He has a new girlfriend so of course they don’t want to be apart. So she goes to work and then comes here.. ugh. I mean it’s better than them going out but still!!
So glad to hear from you, Jen!! “Good to be a hoarder.” lol! Our school added 1 more week to Spring break.
My daughter and I are self isolating, along with the girls of course. They don’t understand, but we’ll keep talking with them. No pool is the worst part for them! 2 weeks off school, then the pool closes. WHAT?? Hope we can find the hose, so they can play in that!
I hope you find it because a hose works when there’s no pool!
That was certainly a good opener. We went to Walmart Friday when we got the first reports of cases in the nearby city. A 30 something woman, was snatching paper towels (the last roll) from and elderly 70+ woman. A fight nearly broke out when a big man intervened. We had bought our normal paper good. But stopped on the way home, and picked up another large package. There were people filling up buggies with paper goods.
Our toilet paper supply hasn’t improved much here.
I always wondered why in the virus movies that people were always killing each other instead of helping each other and now after seeing what’s happening with toilet paper, I understand… people get ugly in the face of adversity.
‘Once in a while, it’s good to be a hoarder’ the best opening sentence ever!!!! 🙂
😊 Thanks!!!
