I was so frustrated with how the weekend went that I forgot to talk about the furnace. It’s in! That was the whole reason that we started working on this house. The furnace needed to be replaced.
Most people would’ve probably not gone back once they got the furnace in but this lady needs some help. She still needs to be willing to help with the clean up too and if not, then I’m not going to waste my time either.
Are we enabling her?
My aunt keeps saying that we are just enabling her to keep hoarding but I don’t think so. Yes, we’re freeing up some space but that’s kind of how you have to do it. Stand in the middle of your kitchen and make a 12″ square out of tape. Step inside the box and trying reaching your counters. Try to set down a cup somewhere. That’s how everyday is for her. She can’t get to any counters in her kitchen. She’s at least 24″ away from reaching them.
She may have done this to herself but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need help to change it.
We’ll be going over there again this weekend with the intention of getting through a few more feet of things in the kitchen. I would love it if we could get to a cabinet or two but I’m not holding out too much hope this time. I don’t know if I can handle that disappointment again.
On a positive note, if we ever do make it through to her book filled hallway, she told me that I could get rid of all the books from one particular author because she knows that she already read all the books. Hey, it’s a start! I’ll take it!
