Tell Us About the Local Shops You’re Supporting

As I was thinking about the protesters yesterday, I was wondering why people weren’t supporting their local businesses more. All these people saying that they’re doing it to help businesses have a lot of power at their fingertips.

We’re not in a total lockdown here. We can still go to stores like grocery stores, Menard’s, Home Depot along with many small local places. So that’s what we’ve been doing.

Today, I ordered bakery from Sweet Perfections. They have online services or friendly phone service. They deliver locally, and offer curbside or counter service. I’m not sure if they ship though. They took my order and payment over the phone so all I had to do was pick it up.

My kids are intent on keeping all the local restaurants open and order out almost everyday. Yesterday, they had ponzarotta’s from a small local place that’s been here for many, many years. It would be sad if they went out of business because of the virus. So even as nervous as I am about ordering out food, I let them anyways.

First Place goes to this Gift Shop

There’s one other store around here that deserves some attention. They’re a small gift shop that’s really stepping up to the plate. I was looking for some gifts for furloughed co-workers and had heard one of my friends talking about this place. The owners went out of their way to help her pick out the perfect gifts over the phone and get them shipped out right away.

I went to the website looking to see if you could order online about 4 or 5 days ago but you couldn’t yet. But, they have been working around the clock to try to get a store set up so you can find gifts to ship! It’s not up yet but I think they said that it will be soon. Until then, they can still help you with orders over the phone. They’re also doing live facebook videos regularly now, including some instructional workshops with kids crafts.

I love seeing businesses step up their game instead of sitting around whining about everything that’s going on. The shop I’m talking about here is Faith and Giggles. No affiliation here and I’m sure they’ll never see this but that’s not what this is about. It’s about helping businesses that are trying their hardest to get through this pandemic.

Let’s help out our small businesses if we’re able to!
