Yesterday was my daughter’s wedding day. It was beautiful!
I took off work starting on Wednesday and got some cleaning done. I wasn’t expecting to invite anyone over so I wasn’t in any rush to get everything done. I just wanted to clean up so that I wouldn’t waste any time looking for things that were lost in the mess.
Thursday was shopping day! Â I had to finish shopping for my family. I only bought the things that we needed but I haven’t been shopping in a long time so it was fun.
Friday was great but a little messy. Â I was late for everything. Â I was late for the manicures and pedicures. Â They were wonderful. Â That was the first time that I’ve had either. Â Then I needed to exchange a few things so I was late for lunch and flower making. Â I finished those up late and then had to run home with my girls. Â So, we were an hour late for the rehearsal and missed the whole thing. Â Oops. We were able to help with the set up for a little bit and then actually made it to the rehearsal dinner on time.
Saturday was the wedding day and it was beautiful! Â We got up at 5:00 a.m. to get hair and make up done. Â The professionals came right to the house. Â They were there by 6 a.m. Â They did a great job! Â My daughter and all the bridesmaids looked beautiful!!!
The ceremony lasted less than a half hour and then while everyone moved into the reception area, we took wedding pics. Â By the time we were done, brunch was all set up. The food was fabulous. Â The buffet had salad, fruit, and cheese and crackers. Â Next was french toast, bacon, sausage, and then some other lunch foods like chicken, roasted potatoes, and fish. Â After those things were prime rib, ham, and something else. Â I never made my way over to that table. Â Next there was a big omelet table where they made the omelets right in front of you. Â They were delicious! Â Last but not least, there was a table of desserts including a chocolate fondue fountain. Â The whole buffet was great. Â Every single person could find something to eat that they loved. Â It even worked for people on special diets and picky little kids.
The whole thing was done by 3:00 p.m. which left plenty of time for everyone to go home and do other things. Â The kids weren’t too tired and crabby. Â I don’t think the weather could have been any better. Â It was just really nice all the way around. Â I didn’t hear a single complaint about anything.
In the evening, they invited all their friends and siblings to another party. Â Parents weren’t invited which was fine with me. Â There was a lot of drinking involved and I didn’t really want to see my kids smashed anyways.
My good friend and her family ended up coming over to my house. Â It was so nice! Â We ordered pizzas and had a great time. Â I was even able to let them in the house when it started to storm outside. Â The kitchen was still a mess but it was okay. Â It could have been much worse. Â Then some other family members stopped over unexpectedly and I let them in the living room too. Â I just told everyone to stay out of the kitchen. Â I had a great night!

Sounds like a great day (minus the being late for everything they day before)!
Thank goodness that her mother-in-law was on top of it all!!!
