Every day when I get up and look out the window, I still can’t believe what I’m seeing. Nothing less than wonderful.
It’s the most beautiful sight ever.
My lifetime dream come true.
Mostly. The garden is a bit of a distraction.
The bugs and weeds in the garden are getting overwhelming. I never heard of squash bugs or squash vine borers until I moved in here. These bugs can apparently decimate a garden in a matter of hours. Mosquitoes just came out and I constantly hear buzzing in my ears. Bugs everywhere.
The weeds aren’t any better than the bugs. There’s an old gardeners saying apparently that I wish I had known about last year. It goes “One year of seeds means 7 years of weeds.”
Well, had I known this last year, I might not have let hundreds of thistle plants go to seed last year. I just didn’t know any better and now this year, there’s literally thousands.
They’re everywhere.
I’m so sick of getting pricklers in my hands every day. I learned my lesson though and so I’ve been pulling and cutting as many as possible before the seeds fall.
There’s so many that I can’t possibly get all of them but hopefully enough that they won’t be so bad next year. I think it’s going to take every one of those seven years to get rid of them, if ever.
But besides the stressful garden, there’s something wonderful here that makes me smile every time I look out the window.
This was something that I’ve wanted my entire life. I’m pretty sure that I was still a toddler when this dream started growing and it finally came to fruitation.
My boys are finally home and it’s so wonderful!
I’ve been boarding Flash for a lot of years. He’s the black and white one. The other horse is a mustang that we got less than a year ago. Sweetest horse ever. He’s only three but such a good horse already. It’s so nice to have them at home.
I love that your horses get to be at home!
