This is the day that we’ve been working towards, Furnace Day! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well. Every step with the hoarded house has been a monumental amount of work. Things could take a turn for the worst at any moment, as I suspect they will.
On Sunday, after we left, the door lock broke. She needed to get a locksmith to come over on Monday to fix it. Then there’s the whole possibility of the furnace people needing to get to the thermostat. If they do, there’s going to be problems. She tried making a path yesterday but there’s no place to go with anything so there’s no such thing as making a path.
And, since she doesn’t want to deal with any of it, she made plans to go to lunch while the furnace people are working on the furnace. Why? No idea but I have a feeling it’s because she’s embarrassed about the condition of her house. Embarrassing as this whole thing has been for her, I’m very proud of her for doing as much as she’s done and for letting them in to do the work. I know it’s been really hard on her and I’ll be so happy once they’re done.
I’ll let you know how it goes as soon as soon as I hear anything! I think there’s still a 50/50 chance that it doesn’t happen!
You have been working so hard!! Are you able to get her to a counselor?
Not quite yet but maybe soon. She’s actually going to let some people come over to help her with her lawn finally.
