No fun challenges for me this weekend. Everything outside needs to get done before Tuesday so I’ll work outside most of the weekend. That’s when the temps will make a drastic drop down into winter coat weather.
I’ll be doing simple little jobs all day long starting today. It doesn’t seem like that would add up to much but it makes a difference.
Take today for example. Some of the things I did included:
- Emptying the recycle bin
- Going through the mail
- Putting dishes into the dishwasher
- Emptying my workspace garbage
- Cleaning up the cat dishes
- Taking a few eBay pics
- Giving the cats more water
These are all tiny, little jobs. They only take a minute or two to accomplish and they get you up and away from your desk. Besides, our bodies aren’t meant to sit all day so it’s good to get up every hour anyways.
Some of these things might sound like no-brainers to some people but to others, they don’t come naturally.
You might even be like me if you can walk past a piece of trash in the yard twenty times and the thought never crosses your mind to pick it up. It’s only when I go work outside and I’m actively looking for things to pick up when I start to see them.
The good news is, you will start seeing them!
If you make a conscious effort, you can do it and it will start to happen automatically. It doesn’t happen overnight but will slowly keep getting easier until it’s second nature.
Every hour, I’ll go outside to get as much work done during the day as possible since it gets dark so early now.
I still haven’t decided what I’m doing with the front porch because I still don’t want all these boxes out there. There’s also a lot of things in my truck that need to go to Goodwill. I’ll be working on that too.
With the right attitude, it’s fun to work outside!!
