How Was This Picture Taken AFTER the Party?

Cleaning up right after having a party was never really a thing for me.

I’ve always cleaned the day after the party and I wasn’t planning to do it differently this time. But something was different this time.

Since I hadn’t spent all morning cleaning, I wasn’t completely exhausted.

I wasn’t yelling at everyone else to clean either so I wasn’t stressed or angry.

My house was calm.

It was so calm in fact, that I even worked on a few eBay listings the morning of the party.

On the same day as the party, I was able to work on eBay listings. I can’t even believe I’m saying that!

It’s not like I didn’t have to do anything in the morning. In the kitchen, I did a load of dishes and threw away some plastic groceries bags. I wiped down the counters and swept the floor. There were a few things on the counter and I put those all in the cabinet. Next I threw away an old piece of cake that was still in the refrigerator. Lastly, I swept the floor.

After that, I moved to the bathroom and wiped down the bathroom sink and toilet. That’s it. I didn’t need to do anything else.

Since the dining room table was already cleared off, all I had to do was start putting the new bags of chips on it.

The last room that I needed to work on was the living room which was as easy as the other rooms. A few things had accumulated but nothing that took more than a few minutes to clean up.

Once I finished cleaning up, I sat down on the couch and wondered what I needed to do next.

There really wasn’t anything left to do besides put the food out. However, since it’s been so long since I’ve had anyone over, I had forgotten a few things.

There weren’t any drinks for anyone and I didn’t have any chairs set up in the backyard. Without having to rush around like a crazy person, I found some chairs and put them out and then sent my daughter to the store for the forgotten drinks.

When the guests arrived, I was in a happy mood. I wasn’t all frantic and harried. I wasn’t embarrassed or worried that someone might look in the refrigerator or in one of the cabinets. It wasn’t perfect by some people’s standards but it was good enough!

I enjoyed talking with everyone that came. Of course there weren’t a lot of people because of the virus, but anytime my family is here, it’s kind of a lot of people by default. It was really nice though! Hopefully everyone else had a good time too!

Once the party was over, I was a little tired so I thought, oh well, I’ll just clean up tomorrow. But the more I looked at it, the more I thought to myself that it really wasn’t all that bad.

So I started cautiously, telling myself that I could just do a little and if it was too much, I would finish it tomorrow. Ten minutes later, it was all cleaned up!

Ten minutes later and it was all cleaned up AFTER THE PARTY! Yay!!

This might be a first for me!

Then guess what – I didn’t have to do anything when I got up this morning! Everything was done. Now that was a great feeling!! It was nice to look around and see nothing but a clean kitchen.
