A Little Bit At A Time To Keep Anxiety Down

Since my evening plans were cancelled, I didn’t have to go to the barn today. I made grand plans to do a lot in my bedroom but ended up only getting a little done.

But a little bit is a lot sometimes.

I have a whole closet full of clothes that are all one size too small. That happens because of my thyroid disease and the accompanying weight gain and loss. These were my favorites that I kept when I packed them in there so they’re hard to get rid of.

I managed to find nine things but I’ll go through them all once more.  I usually find a lot more on the second run-through.

There’s no need for a picture of the clothes because they’re just boring clothes. However, I wanted to mention one other thing about tonight. My anxiety about getting rid of things was kicking in – badly. I don’t know what it was but I was panicking a little bit when deciding whether or not to get rid of each thing.

Maybe it’s because the stack of get rid of stuff is huge and I’m afraid I’ll give away something important or valuable.

Or it’s because I’ve had these clothes for quite awhile and I paid a lot of money for them.  Sometimes it’s hard to give all that money away.  I guess that’s not the best way to think about it.

Thankfully, out of sight, out of mind is a true statement!

It must be time to stop and make a trip to the donation place. Maybe if I don’t see the mountain of stuff, i won’t be so anxious.

The only way I’m going to find out is by doing it but it might have to wait until the weekend.

There’s a book I’ve been reading, or should I say working through, lately called * The Declutter Challenge by Cassandra Aarssen.  It starts out by helping you work through some of the emotional aspects of why you’re holding onto clutter.  It’s been helpful!
