Don’t Clean Out the Cabinets Before a Holiday

It’s one week until Easter. As I sit at the table, I take a look around at the cabinets with the glass doors and think to myself, “Wow, I could get rid of so much in there.” But then I stop and remind myself, “Don’t clean out the cabinets before a holiday!”

A week before a holiday is not the time for decluttering, no matter how badly the cabinets need it and mine need it bad!

The goal this week is to get everything put away, out of sight, not bring more out. However, I did come across a few things that were sitting around that I don’t need or want and so those went straight out to the garage into the Goodwill pile.

I’m still loving the house that doesn’t take months to clean although I’ll admit that things are making their way slowly in. That’s why I would love to clean out those cabinets! But I’m not going to. Not before the holiday anyways!

One Week Until Easter

Only one week until Easter and there’s no sick feeling in my stomach because of a mess. People could come over right now and I would be able to let them in.

Do you know what that feels like? I guess most people do but it’s something that I haven’t been able to do for a very long time! If you don’t, you gotta try it. It’s a great feeling, especially if it’s been a while. Let me know if I can help in any way!

Spring Cleaning Time!

Spring is taking it’s time coming in this year so there might be a little time for some spring cleaning yet. Instead of “cleaning” though, I’ll get at least one of those cabinets done.

Once I load up my truck with the many boxes of donations, I’ll try to take a quick gander through those cabinets and find more things to take.

There’s so much more to do this summer than decluttering!
