The clutter in this house is causing clutter wars, especially between the twins. One wants to throw everything away and the other one wants to keep everything!
There hasn’t been this much friction in the house since the other kids were all still living at home. Yesterday my son said that we were all going crazy because of all the clutter. I had to remind him that he’s really the only one going crazy.
He even offered to give me $500 if I would get rid of everything. Very tempting! I wouldn’t mind getting rid of the eBay stuff and taking the money but his idea of everything is really everything and I’m not okay with that yet.
The get rid of pile is growing impressively today. I’ve gotten rid of things that were in the sell pile because I just don’t want to list them. Nice stuff but clearing it out is going to be more fulfilling than spending the time to list and then waiting for it to sell. I still have plenty here to keep going.
I would love to do a free table but I don’t know if anyone would pick stuff up right now with the pandemic going on. Probably not. St. Vincent de Paul is being overrun with people donating so I’m not going there. I’m sure it’s the same way at Goodwill. So, I’m not sure where to go with this stuff right now. I’d like to get it out the door though.
Any ideas of where else to go with excess stuff?
Just try a free table, and see. Some of my other decluttering friends are getting rid of stuff that way. Also freecycle. And one has a neighborhood buy nothing group. Hope u get it all out soon!! I just ended up throwing some stuff away, I just couldn’t hold onto it. That’s what got me in a mess in the first place, holding onto stuff!
I thought that I could start putting it all in my truck In the driveway and then either drop it off somewhere or set up a free table in a week or two. Hopefully people will come.
All of our donation sites are closed – we are just waiting it out.
