A Different Spot But Not A Different Room

My plan this week was to declutter a small space everyday and so far so good. But secondary to that, I was planning on doing a different spot in a different room every day.

That part didn’t really work out. My hallway has been calling to me.

I work on the downstairs half a lot but not so much upstairs because I don’t go up there very often.

Well, I didn’t anyways. Remember the downstairs bathroom remodel? Yea, the toilet started leaking and we couldn’t find the leak anywhere. We couldn’t see any water. The toilet just kept running. Insides were replaced but nothing was helping. So, my son got sick of listening to it and decided to try fixing it himself. Bad idea.

Now I can’t even use it at all so I have to go upstairs. Thank goodness we finished that bathroom first!

Anyways, it kind of looks like the kids just open their doors and shove stuff into the hallway up there. Yay! Lots to get rid of! It’s so much easier when it’s not my own stuff.

Every time I went up there to use the bathroom today, I grabbed a pile.

Perfect!

a pile of clutter from the hallway

Without much effort at all, I got rid of a whole box of things! The last two days were also from the hallway so I guess I should say that I’m doing the hallway and not a different room every day.

Maybe next week I’ll do that but I think I’ll finish out this week by working on the hallway. There’s only a few days left anyways.

I keep piling up the stuff I’m getting rid of in the middle of my living room. It’s kind of a pain because my living room isn’t that big but I love watching the pile grow. When it’s all in a pile like that I can see exactly how much space I’m freeing up.

Most of the stuff today is also going in the trash with only a few things being donated.

I hope you’re doing well and are on the way to clutter free!

  • I go over to my sister’s and help her, since my living room, and kitchen are done. SO much easier to do others’ stuff! The hallway is a wonderful idea!! Adds safety value as well!!

    • Yes! That’s an excellent thought!! I feel so much more stressed when things are stacking up in the hallways.

That’s so nice of you to help your sister! Is she good about letting you get rid of things?
