Getting a Dumpster is So Worth The Money

We had a dumpster delivered to help clean out the house.

While it’s not cheap, getting a dumpster is the way to go if you have a lot to get rid of. I don’t know what we would’ve done without it.

The day that our garbage was picked up, the can was full again. The city dump is only open on Saturday and Wednesday and it’s expensive.

There was no place to go with anything. Getting a dumpster was really our only option at that point.

The dumpster was around $500 because we got one of the biggest ones. For that price, you can keep it up to one month. I was worried the first few days because the first few things look so little in that big dumpster.

But I had nothing to worry about. We had enough junk around. Plus, we kept reminding ourselves that the more we threw away, the less we had to move.

The big question that I keep asking myself is what do I regret throwing in that dumpster?

I can’t lie and say nothing because there is actually a lot but I’m okay with it. What makes it even more okay is that it really wasn’t stuff to keep that I regret, it’s the stuff that I found out later that I could’ve sold. But I have enough here to sell so I shouldn’t feel like that.

It didn’t help that I was told that hundreds and hundreds of dollars of things from the basement were thrown away. But it’s okay. I still have enough.

Here’s one other thing that we’re regretting. The kids had two guitars. They didn’t want them and said they could go in the dumpster. They were both in the storage room and I was having such a hard time in there that I was happy to get rid of anything that was okayed to go.

My mom was over one day and decided that she wanted one so she could learn how to play a Christmas song. Of course, once the dumpster was taken away, she decided she wanted the other one. It was too late. I still hear about how she wishes she would’ve picked the other one.

The Dumpster is FULL

We filled the whole dumpster with junk!

Well, all that stuff is gone now. It was a lifesaver getting a dumpster. It was very fulfilling to go outside and throw things in. I know that I got rid of extra stuff just because the dumpster was there.

The dumpster company was great also. They came within a day or two of calling them and then they picked it up within a day or two also. They were very friendly, fast and efficient.

Overall it was a great expenditure. So much so that maybe we even did it again….
