The Most Embarrassing Day At The Storage Unit

You might be wondering what could be so embarrassing at a storage unit.

Well, I was there early one morning, looking for some papers. The unit was filled up as full as it could be.

It was very rare to see anyone else there at the same time I was. This particular morning, as I started pulling things out, I started worrying that one of the neighbors might show up.

At the same time, I was also wondering what kinds of things other people kept in their storage units.

It wasn’t long before I would find out.

As I pulled things out of the storage unit, putting it a little too far in front of the neighbors unit, I kept thinking about how everything looked so old and grungy.

Even the furniture was ugly and everything was covered in cat hair. Not only that but the storage shed had that smell like the one that hits you when walk into a place like Goodwill or St. Vinny’s.

And then it happened, the storage unit neighbor showed up and needed to get into his unit. He was very friendly and offered to help move the things I had put in front of his unit.

I was so embarrassed!!

This nice young guy was helping move all this old, ugly, cat hair covered stuff that he didn’t have to.

It didn’t make me feel much better when he opened his unit up either. Instead of being stuffed full of junk, it was set up like a nice garage with a beautiful, super expensive, bright yellow sports car. Everything in there was very neat and organized.

And I had all this junk. Lots of it.

Stuff we didn’t need.

It was such an embarrassing experience. I know that it really wasn’t quite as big of a deal as it seemed at the time but I guess what made it so bad was that I felt like a full fledged hoarder at that moment.

I normally tell myself that I just have a little too much stuff but that day it was obvious that I had way too much stuff.

The day that we got everything out of there was a very happy day!
