Estate Sale at the House We Were Looking At

When we pulled up to the house that we were looking at, to show the realtor what we were looking for, there were cars everywhere. It didn’t take us long to realize that the estate sale sign down the road was for the house we were looking at.

Ok, that makes sense, they’re having an estate sale because they’re moving, or they passed away and the kids are having an estate sale.

The surprising part was how much stuff there was.

First, there was the shop. It was pretty full of things but it wasn’t too unusual. I did joke with my realtor friend that he probably shouldn’t be bringing a hoarder to an estate sale.

The shop was full of a lot of random things.

Things still didn’t seem too strange, especially to me, because I have too much stuff myself. It was just kind of like a big rummage sale.

Next we went inside the house. It wasn’t a huge house but there was still a lot of things and a lot of people walking around. The biggest thing was that there were lots of collections of things.

The garage had some really unique Hallmark items in it.

Hallmark items were filling the house. One room was full of old magazines and books. Another room was full of glass and kitchen items. A bedroom was full of old toys.

I was loving this estate sale but I knew that I had just as much stuff at my own house and I needed to get rid of it, not bring more home. But boy oh boy it was hard to actually look at the house!

At one point, I even said that I would probably really like whoever lived there because they had such cool stuff!

On to the barn…

After we finished in the house, we headed over to the barn. There were so many Hallmark ornaments in there. Some of them were awesome but I don’t need to start a Hallmark collection. I know how that ends up after working on that extreme hoarder house last summer.

They had the ornaments out in the aisle but then all five of the stalls and the hay room were full of things too. There were some great toys but the few that I would’ve liked were broken so it wasn’t hard passing them by.

Lastly, there was a one car garage that was full of empty buckets. I could’ve used those for packing at my house but they weren’t a very good deal so I passed on those too.

These pictures don’t seem to show the extent of how much stuff there was at this estate sale but things were flying off the tables as we were walking through.

When we were finished, the realtor asked us if we wanted to put an offer in. Well, that wasn’t really the plan but……..
