Free Up More Time By Hiring A Virtual Assistant

The virtual assistant listed this Irish Mickey Mouse for me.

One of the best things that I’ve done to save time has been to hire a virtual assistant to help with my eBay listings.

It was taking me a long time listing everything which meant things were piling up waiting.  When you’re trying to declutter, that can be a deal breaker.

So, I hired a virtual assistant.

The company that I decided to go with is S.A. Wells & Associates. They charge $2.00 per listing. Once you’re registered, you get assigned to a virtual assistant. I’m not affliliated with this company in any way. I just really appreciate their help and want to share my experience with others.

You will want to make sure that the items you’re selling are worth spending the $2.00 fee on. It’s important to think about all of the costs involved.

If you’re buying things to resell, you have to count the cost of the item, plus eBay’s listing fee and final value fee, and then the virtual assistant fee. If you can’t make at least what your threshhold amount is, then don’t send it to be listed.

My threshhold is pretty low at around $10.00 per item. I have to be sure that I’m going to make at least that much or I don’t include it.

Once you decide that you need a virtual assistant, here’s how it works:

  1. Find 20 things that you want to sell.
  2. Take pictures of the items you want listed. You can take between 1-12 pictures per item.
  3. Upload your pics to individual folders on Dropbox.
  4. Write up a description, with the weight, of each item and put it in the folder for that item on Dropbox. You can do this in different ways. Either write it on a white board or piece of paper and take a picture of it or you can upload a PDF file.
  5. Copy the link for the folder that’s named with your name and date.
  6. Send it to the link provided by your virtual assistant and make your $40.00 payment.
  7. Wait for an email from your virtual assistant telling you when you can expect the batch to be completed.
  8. That’s it!

The whole Dropbox thing takes a little time to get to used to if you’ve never used it but once you figure it out, it gets much easier.

Since you’re still taking all the pics and writing up what the item is, you might be wondering what makes it worth the money to have a virtual assistant do the listing.

The part that saves me so much time is the research. They will be doing the research on each item. They know what keywords to use to get people to look at your item and they know how to price them. If you’re like me and tend to price things way too low, it’s well worth it to hire someone who will price it right.

I don’t know how all companies or virtual assistants work. This is only a description of what I do with the company that I’m using. Others are probably different so find the one that works the best for you!

Here’s a few current listings that the VA listed for me:

(When you click on links to various merchants on
this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.)

Hiring a VA isn’t just for eBay.

If you search around on the internet, you can find lots of other types of VA’s. They can help you in all different types of businesses. They can help you tame your email inbox, type up letters for you, or head a specific project. Be creative and try to find things that you are willing to delegate. Good luck!

  • I was just wondering what they did, after all that work you did! lol I was supposed to sell some things for my dad. After looking at similiar objects, I’m just gonna send him some money, then donate items! Most are $20, or less! Not worth my time! I have to split the money.
