Getting Rid of Things Is the Better Option

It always amazes me what I find in this house. I keep saying I have some cool stuff to sell but you won’t think so after seeing these pics today! Getting rid of these things really is the better option. This stuff probably wouldn’t even do good on a free table! I wouldn’t even attempt to sell a single thing here.

This is a random mix of stuff. Some is from cleaning out places I already cleaned out (like the make up bag), some is from my friends to try to sell but I won’t be wasting my time, and some is from the shelves that I’m unsuccessfully supposed to be decluttering.

Here is the list:

  • Jeans – no idea whose these are
  • 8 VHS tapes – yes some are worth money but I’m taking the time to find out if any of these are good sellers. Even if they are, they still don’t fetch more than a few dollars
  • Seize the Day mug – my daughter bought this to sell but it got a chip in it somehow
  • Big root beer mug
  • Small Jar mug
  • Fisher Price Hickory Dickory Dock Clock wind up radio
  • Camping tote bag
  • Cat food dish shaped like a fish
  • Salt and Pepper Outhouses Shakers – I had no idea this was a thing! Can someone please explain it to me?
  • 2 Votive holders
  • Shower rack
  • Make up bag
  • 5 little make up items
  • Christmas tin missing the cover
  • 4 air fresheners
  • 2 pet dishes in a stand
  • Copper measuring spoons
  • Vintage ice cream scoop – I have 3 other vintage ice cream scoops. This one drew the short straw.
  • Tupperware peeler
  • Patio umbrella lights – I finally got an umbrella but I don’t have time to putz with something like this.
  • Craft pattern
  • Candle holder
  • Glass chandelier lamps
  • Relaxing water fountain
  • Bag of Easter eggs
  • Another pet food dish
  • George Foreman grill – Initially, I fought to keep this because I used to have one that I loved and used all the time until it just stopped working. I could never find another one that was as big as that one was and finally found this one about a year ago. And then I never used it. So I made dinner with it the other day and it was okay. Nothing special and I realized that it was really big and took up a lot of space so I gave in and now it’s in the car ready to be donated.

That’s it from last night! 44 things packed up in the car ready to go!

I love having goals and analyzing the data so the total for this week is around 158. If I have time, I’ll come back and adjust it if I’ve added wrong. It’s just so crazy how much is in this one room. I hope I make a little more of a dent by the end of the week!

A Few Pics

Before pic – This is the pile on the second day of decluttering. There was still so much to go through!

After pic – Ok, here’s what’s left in the pile. Still lots to go through and hopefully I’ll be adding more to it.
