Getting Through the Pile one or many Items at a Time

I’ve been working on the pile of things that’s been sitting in my living room for about two weeks now. Yes, I was procrastinating but I’m finally starting on it today. These are mostly things that I was keeping to sell but I’m getting rid of them instead.

Here’s what I got rid of today:

  • 6 DC Comic Books – I hope these aren’t worth anything because if they are, I have no idea and I’m giving them away
  • Mug bank
  • Little sweater
  • Jeans
  • Jacket
  • One piece baby outfit
  • Dr Phil book – I sold this once but the person never paid for it.
  • Kevin Trudeau book
  • Moana doll
  • 2 other little dolls/toys
  • Norman Rockwell cookbook
  • Taste of Homes Slow Cooker cookbook – IMPORTANT – if you see this book anywhere and are thinking about buying it, open it up and smell it. I’ve come across 3 of them now and every one of them has been musty. They look brand new so something must’ve happened when they were shipping or storing them or something. Just be careful if you have a mold allergy.
  • Sixteen Candles dvd
  • 67 Dominoes – this one was hard. These are actually pretty old and the design is kind of cool on them but I can’t keep everything and dominoes don’t sell for much.
  • Pencil box – This is a 1988 McDonald’s happy Meal toy so after I added it to this list, I looked it up and they’ve been selling for around $5.00 with free shipping. Even though I could sell it, it’s not worth the few dollars.
  • Smoke detector
  • Vitamin D3
  • Spunky – This puppy is a Gund stuffed animal that claps and talks and it’s so cute but the gears are stripped on it. Bummer.
  • Tupperware lid with microwave bubbling on it
  • Pyrex lid that’s disintegrating
  • Waffle maker
  • Flat sheet
  • Stove top cleaner that’s all dried up
  • 6 Books
  • Stuffed animal pet carrier
  • 2 Wine glasses

There’s a lot of junkie stuff here. I’m glad that I’m getting rid of it all. I kept less than half of what I went through. The pile is still pretty big so I’ll work on it more tomorrow. It’s crazy how getting rid of all these things doesn’t even make the tiniest dent in this house.
