The Listing Deadline Was Quickly Approaching

The listing deadline that the realtor gave us at first was a joke. For some reason, he thought I’d be able to have it all done in a week.

After a week, it was obvious to everyone that we weren’t going to meet his extreme listing deadline.

I knew that we didn’t have long but even as hard as I worked, there was no way we were ready. We still had so much to do.

There were a few rooms that were almost emptied but that storage room was packed tight. Every time I tried working on it, I’d get nowhere.

For some reason, nothing was budging in that room. No one would help me with it either and it had to get done. I couldn’t keep putting it off.

The next two days, that’s all I worked on. I just had to keep bringing things downstairs to get them out of there.

This is when we realized that we needed a dumpster. There was so much that I could get rid of but I didn’t have anyplace to go with it. The garbage cans were filled up almost instantly on the day the garbage was picked up.

With a dumpster now in the arsenal, things could move a long just a little faster. Unfortunately, every item in the storage room had survived a decluttering attempt at some point. so I got rid of less than I thought I would.

I started by the doorway and just worked my way in. I’d grab a box or fill a box up and then haul it downstairs and out the front door into my truck. Once the truck was full, I’d take it to the storage unit and come back and do it again. I did that for two full days.

Eventually I got through it all and what a relief that was!!

Too bad most of it ended up in the storage unit.
