Will the Offer Be Accepted This Time?

After a few long days of waiting for the news, we would find out if the offer we put in was good enough.

One of the things that came up on the inspection was a leak in the furnace. I think that was enough to scare a lot of people away but we put in the offer that it either had to be repaired or replaced.

The other major issue was the electrical box but that wasn’t a concern for us either so we had asked for a credit on it.

There were still a few reasons that I wouldn’t be too upset if the offer wasn’t accepted either.

The #1 reason was all of the stuff in our house.

We had gone through 20 buckets like it was nothing. The house looked like it would take a couple hundred more at least!!

How would we get our house cleared out if our offer was accepted?

The #2 reason was still the distance but lots of people assured me that I would get used to it. It was still only a half hour to get to the other family members. It wasn’t like we were moving hours away or across the state or anything.

We would also still be close enough to go to our favorite stores and restaurants if we wanted to. Plus, there would be lots of new places to explore too. That’s what my brain needed, a good old fashioned change of scenery.

Also, we made sure that the distance for me to get to work wouldn’t be too much. After timing it a few times, we figured that it only took about 18 minutes to get there. It was about 10 minutes from home but the distance was much shorter, just more lights and traffic.

Again, not set it going either way, we waited patiently for the next phone call to find out if the offer was accepted this time.

And……

It WAS!!

The offer was ACCEPTED!!

We were very, very excited but then reality sunk in fast. The realtor wanted to get our house up for sale by the next week.

There was no way that was happening but he persisted. He kept insisting that I just keep filling boxes and get them out of the house.

It sounds so easy, doesn’t it?

Nothing easy about it.

And we had less than a month to sell our house in order to close in time to get the new (to us) house.

I realized we needed to get down to business and get everything out fast. That meant there was no poking around in the living room anymore. Everything had to go out.

No sooner had I loaded up the first few loads before the construction trucks were in front of my house. They were still letting me in and out, most of the time, but it was a bumpy ride once they got the road ripped out.

While this was a challenge, some of the things we were finding in the house would turn out to be even more concerning.

What kind of things do you find in a house when you have too much stuff crammed in it?

I think we’re going to need lots of this Plant Therapy Multi-Surface Cleaner stuff from Amazon! I love this stuff. It’s the cleaner that I’ve been using for awhile now. I had bought a decluttering bundle of articles one time and I got this for free from PlantTherapy.com (not an affiliate link – I just really love this product!) It’s so nice that I’ve been buying it ever since!
