Opening the Door To the Storage Room

Today I took a big step by opening the door to the storage room. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually tried moving anything around in there.

It’s hard to take pictures of the room because there’s so many things in there. The pictures would look like any other hoarder house pictures that you see online. I’ll try to get a little more creative with it tomorrow.

I only filled up one small crate full of things to get rid of. It was a little discouraging but then one of the kiddos pointed out that hey, it was a full crate after all and you can hardly move anything so it was still good.

It made me feel better to hear them say that. Maybe I’ll be a little more motivated tomorrow.

There has to be a little downtime to the decluttering in order to stay sane so I took a little time today and went to see my horse. It was really nice to see him but I have a hard time going there in the winter.

Nothing good happens at the barn in the winter and this year is no different.

They lost both a pot belly pig and a mini horse this week. A few years ago Flash colicked in the winter. I feel bad for all the cats that have to survive the winter in the barn. There’s just not very good feelings there in the winter.

It’s cold, dark and desolate and you’re at the mercy of Mother Nature. Sometimes it’s all ice as far as you can see. Sometimes the water pipes freeze and sometimes it’s just so cold you can’t move anymore and getting into the truck becomes all important.

I just remind myself that the days are getting longer now and once we get past March 1st, there won’t be many days below zero degrees Fahrenheit. That’s only 6 or 7 weeks away.

Opening the door to the storage room now will open more doors in the springtime.

Will the storage room be done in 6 or 7 weeks? Heck ya. I’m aiming for 2 or maybe 3 weeks to get it done. It’s a hard one to do but I’m determined.
