Two Weeks Later and We Get a Surprising Phone Call

The realtor gave us a phone call about the estate sale house

For two weeks, I worked on a little decluttering and a little packing. I wasn’t in a rush any longer since receiving the phone call that we didn’t get the estate sale house. We could take our time finding another house.

Every day, I was kind of thankful that we didn’t get that house because there was so much work to be done at our house. How would we ever move everything by June when it would already be April in a few days? There was no way it could happen anyways.

Every day, there would be a few more construction trucks in front of the house. The banging on the roads was getting kind of scary as they busted through concrete. My whole house would shake and I decided that I probably wouldn’t do good living in California. I really don’t like that feeling.

Then came the phone call.

This phone call was a little surprising. It was the realtor. The original buyers from the estate sale house changed their mind after getting an inspection done. It was back on the market but again, we would have less than 24 hours to decide if we wanted to put another offer in.

I couldn’t decide on the spot and told the realtor that I needed to see the house again. The estate sale was so distracting to me that I couldn’t remember what everything looked like.

This time, we took everyone with us who was available and for the second time, we spent over two hours there.

Sometimes when you go to look at a house, you can’t wait to get out of it. It’s like you can’t stand being there. But not this house, everyone was comfortable the whole time we were there.

The other unusual thing was that the owner was there. I made a comment about the cool estate sale she had and that she really had a lot of stuff. She replied, “That’s just the stuff we were getting rid of. We still have two semi trucks full.”

WHAT?!?!?

Anyways, she talked to my mom for awhile and was very nice. I knew that I would like her if I met her and I did. It was a nice little visit and everyone still really liked the house, even the family members who wouldn’t be living there.

But.. the house was STILL too far away, it still needed work, and our current house was still completely full.

So again, we decided to go in with a weak offer, even asking for credits this time due to some of the inspection findings.

Again, I felt that if it was meant to happen, it would.

Would we be needing more boxes from Amazon?
