Heading Into the Second Weekend of Showings

I was determined to make the second weekend of showings better than the first. I had to or we wouldn’t be getting the house we were hoping to buy.

We were down to the wire, things weren’t looking good, the realtor was very worried, the road construction was making everything impossible, and every one of us were exhausted from working so hard. It was so stressful moving five cats every time there was a showing. We had to get an offer because we couldn’t handle much more stress. The breaking point was near.

And then I remembered something I had found just a few days earlier while I was finishing up my packing.

After reading this scripture verse, I headed into our second weekend of showings with a much different attitude.

That was it.

I read it over and over before the second weekend of showings.

It was a letter from my grandpa who passed away many years ago. It said:

Please Save. Read Often. Philippians 4:6-7

Dismiss all anxiety from your minds. Present your needs to God in every form of prayer and in petitions full of gratitude, then God’s own peace which is beyond all understanding will stand guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

After reading this 100 times, I released my anxiety and just relaxed. I thought, what happens if we don’t get an offer?

Plan B came easily to my now cleared mind. I was okay.

I took my time and walked through the house fixing things that still needed work. If it didn’t sell, what would I want done? Since the house was empty, I could fix some of those things that I couldn’t see before.

And that’s where I started.

The realtor was trying to remain positive but I could tell he was losing hope. He’s a man of faith but with the reactions we had already gotten, I’m sure he didn’t think we would ever get an offer.

But then….

WE DID!!!
