No Your Kitchen is Not Exempt from Stinky Smells

Cleaning the kitchen can be very satisfying. Not only because it looks better when you’re done, but it smells better too!

At my house, the kitchen is the first room you walk into. It’s also the place where everyone seems to congregate. Every time.

And it’s always the place that makes me the most embarrassed. I’ve been saying it awhile now, I can’t keep my kitchen clean!

The counters always seem to be cluttered with everything from food to dishes to mail. I wash the dishes and five minutes later there’s more. It’s like every time I see a clean kitchen, I want to make something! I love cooking! Especially in a clean kitchen.

It’s the cleaning up afterwards that I’m terrible at. There’s always the tried and true – Clean it up as you go – technique. This honestly is the best and easiest way to do it so why don’t I?

Sometimes it’s just easier to leave it all for later but it’s really not and I know that, like you probably do too.

Other times, I think I have the mentality that if the smells aren’t too bad, then it can wait to be cleaned. Ugh. Terrible thinking.

Maybe It Is The Smells

That’s a big part of it.

I don’t know about you but I have a really sensitive nose and so when I think about cleaning the kitchen, I dread the smells that I’m going to encounter.

Dirty dishes = bad smells

Cleaning out the refrigerator = bad smells

Cleaning the air fryer = I hate that smell!

Cleaning up the burnt crumbs in the toaster oven = terribly stinky

Taking the garbage out = MORE bad smelling stuff!

So maybe that’s it.

Maybe the kitchen is always a mess because of the stinky smells in there! If the smells were under control, would cleaning be easier?

Now, what to do about it…..
