What Strange Things Are In Your Storage Room?

If you haven’t been in your storage or junk room in awhile, you might be surprised at the strange things you have hiding in there.

But this room, like others in your house, needs to be decluttered on a regular basis, if not more.

This is especially important if you have allergies. For some reason, dust seems to collect more on these things that aren’t being used.

I know, I know. Easier said than done, right?

The very definition of a storage room makes you realize just how hard it’s going to be to declutter this room.

You are storing things in the storage room. You wouldn’t be storing these things if they weren’t things that you already know you want to keep.

It’s especially hard if they’re unique things that you know aren’t easily replaced, like a Anne Geddes doll for example.

The Anne Geddes doll is one of the strange things I found today.

No one loves this Anne Geddes doll but I do love the reaction of the kids when I bring it out. For some reason, they think it’s terrifying. I think it’s kind of cute but that reaction I get out of them is the funniest thing!

That’s not a good reason to keep this doll. I bought her to sell on eBay because she was only a quarter. The previous owner was also creeped out and couldn’t wait to get it out of her house. So I grabbed her up.

I thought I could make more than a quarter because it is an Anne Geddes item but I listed her for a few months with no buyers. Then she ended up in the Storage Room one day when I was trying to clear some space.

Now she’s getting a new home.

These are the kinds of things that end up in a junk room. It’s the strange things that are different or unique or not really usable. Think about why you’re really keeping them and ask yourself if that reason is good enough that you’re willing to give up space to keep it.

If the answer is no, let it go.
