The Bare Necessities in the Small Bathroom

Only the bare necessities in this bathroom! Hand soap on the sink.

The bathroom is the one place where you can stick to the bare necessities. Why do you need to have anything else in there anyways? You don’t!

In fact, it makes it uber simple to go in there and clean everything. It takes 20 minutes to have a clean and beautiful bathroom without having to spend an extra 10 minutes moving everything around.

Isn’t saving 10-20 minutes every cleaning day worth it?

YES!!

All that’s in my shower is shampoo and soap. That’s all I need. I might get a luffa but nothing more. However, I don’t think that the luffa is really a necessity so I probably won’t.

The upper drawer of the vanity holds razors, Nettie pot supplies, hair brush, and hair ties.

The lower drawer holds feminine hygiene products and a couple bars of soap.

The cabinet under the sink holds the toilet bowl cleaner, glass cleaner, and a few rolls of toilet paper.

Just the Bare Necessities

The only thing on the sink top is hand soap.

The cabinet behind the mirror holds deodorant, a few toothbrushes, and a tube of toothpaste.

Right now, there’s a few other things in there that I probably won’t replace once they’re gone like antibiotic ointment, silver polish, medicine cups, and mouthwash that’s never been opened.

But what about the towels?

I have a separate closet to keep the towels in. No need to have very many hanging in the small bathroom. There’s one large towel and two smaller ones next to the sink to dry hands. The smaller ones probably aren’t necessary. They add color though so maybe I could reduce it to one small and one large towel.

There’s five bath towels hanging on the back of the door. These work here and then I wash them all once a week.

Lastly is the floor mat. I love it and I’m glad I got it but it probably won’t be replaced when it finally gets too old. We can use a towel for getting out of the shower.

Those are the bare necessities left in my bathroom. What are you still keeping in your bathroom?

  • I have a small bathroom too, but not nearly as neat as yours! That looks great. I do subscribe to your method of having only the bare necessities in there (which works well for cleaning in other rooms too), and have the advantage of a separate closet for towels and my job-lot of loo rolls.
