The Clutter Wars Continue

It’s been a constant battle here over keeping stuff to sell (me) and getting rid of it (my son). The good thing is that it’s been much easier for me to get rid of things, most things anyways. I am struggling with some of it but a lot of it can just go out the door and it doesn’t bother me like it used to.

The problem right now is that we’re out of space everywhere. No cramming any more into the storage room because it’s full. I can’t even bring it down to the living room because that’s full too. I pulled quite a bit off the shelves in the living room already but they’re still full. They’re way too full to use them for eBay items like I was hoping to do.

Today I’m going to go through a big pile of stuff. It’s all stuff that will either be for selling or to take to a donation center or put out on a free table. I’ve already determined that I don’t want to personally keep any of it. It’s all cool stuff so I’ll be doing a lot of research before just tossing it. That’s the part that’s driving my son crazy. I’m hoping that once this pile is out though, he’ll calm down about it a little bit.

pile of clutter that I will be going through to decide what to get rid of

I really got tired of seeing the stuff and just wanted it gone. I would set a price limit that is reasonable. If an item can’t bring in a profit of $X dollars, it’s not worth your time or effort to try to sell it. What is your time and space worth? Maybe your son can help if you set a price you both agree on.

I set mine initially at $100. After one attempt at selling, it just wasn’t worth it to me. Then the house flooded – it made it so much easier to sort as I emptied the boxes and make a daily trip to donate the stuff.
