A Yellow Living Room

It’s time to dig out of the hoard at my house.  I’ve already made a ton of progress.  I bet it’s at least a ton of stuff that I’ve hauled away and it hasn’t been easy!  I still can’t have friends over, that will be awhile yet, but I’m starting to see the tunnel.  I can’t see the light at the end yet but I think that will come soon!!

I finally managed to move enough stuff around (unfortunately more moved than left the house) that we finished putting in a laminate floor in the living room.  It took so much work.  Every two feet of carpet I removed, I had a two foot high pile of stuff to move somewhere else.  It was horrible but that part is done now.  My dining room is stacked about 4 feet high through the whole thing so that will be the next room.

Right now there’s still too much in the living room to make much progress.  I’m ready to start painting but that will involve moving furniture around.  Not an easy feat around the piles.  I don’t mind the painting and putting floors in and all that but the prep work is killer when you have a hoard in the house.

As for the paint, I’m doing one wall in yellow.  It’s beautiful.  I love the color yellow and my house is in desperate need of bright and cheery.  I can’t wait until it’s done!! I only have one coat on one small part of the wall done.  I’m going to do one coat on the whole thing and then put the second coat on.  I’m excited to see the whole wall in yellow so that’s why I’m doing it that way.

A lot of people have been giving me a hard time about the yellow paint, including the guy at the store that was mixing it.  Lots of ewwws and that’s a kitchen color and blah blah blah.  I love it!  What do you think?  Is it a bad color for a living room?
