Decluttering 27 Things A Day For the Next Week

Pick a room and do some decluttering! Twenty-seven things each day this week!

Since I’m working at home, I’ll be decluttering three things every hour from the front porch and driveway. Before I start working, I’ll get the first three done so that I’ll have nine decluttering sessions.

Starting right now! Go!

Here’s a few ideas:

  • Junk Mail
  • Newspapers
  • Old shoes
  • Worn out garden gloves that we used all summer
  • Jackets or sweatshirts that don’t fit as good as they used to
  • Broken garden tools
  • Boots that leak or don’t keep our feet warm
  • Broken lawn furniture
  • Worn out pool toys
  • Hanging baskets with no flowers left

You can work on any place you want in your house but I think I’ll be focusing on the driveway and front porch this week. It’s almost winter here so there won’t be many warm days left. Pretty soon it’ll be too cold to spend much time in these areas. Just something to think about.

Don’t forget, if you want to or can do more than 27 each day, go for it! Don’t limit yourself to 27. I always try to do this in multiples of three but I do as many groups of three as possible. If you can do more, then do more.

One last thing that I want to mention. Please don’t go shopping this week unless there’s something that you really truly need. Give your home and your wallet a break for a few days. It’s hard to get anywhere when you keep bringing things home and sometimes we do it out of habit.

Time to get started! Go fast but enjoy the process. Only keep the things that you really use, or that you truly love, or that you need in your home to keep it functioning. Don’t worry about organizing right now. Focus your energy on decluttering.

There’s no right way to do this but you have to put a little effort in and get started!

  • great inspiration. I sorted some old books that I have been keeping for 30+ years. But I think it is time that they go

I am eyeing some plants, planters, and beach rocks that I have been keeping for artistic projects that obviously will not happen

keep up the great work and inspiring us
