Decluttering Small Spaces And The Many Benefits

I hope that you are seeing the benefits of decluttering small spaces!

These are small wins and they will keep you moving forward. Every day that you spend a little time now, will be a day you’ll appreciate later.

Keep this in mind… In six months, will you thank yourself for everything you accomplished today? Or, will you be angry with yourself for spending three hours playing Toy Blast today?

Decluttering small spaces makes the impossible mess seem much more manageable.

You can see the progress right away! It will give you the umpf to keep going tomorrow.

It makes you feel lighter when you look up and don’t see 500 papers hanging out of your mail organization rack. It gives you a sense of relief. The important mail is where it needs to be and the junk mail is gone.

Every morning, I wake up and question myself whether I’m actually making any progress by doing these small little areas. I think that maybe I should be doing more every day.

But then I get up and as I walk through the house, I see that all these small little areas together are adding up to one huge improvement and only one thing comes to mind…..

Decluttering small spaces is bank!

I wonder if you could do the entire house this way?

You betcha!

One last benefit of doing these small spaces is that every time you do a small space, it’s easier doing the next small space.

Getting rid of things does get easier the more you do it.

Today’s Before and After

The kids had this stuff piled up in the hallway. This half full bin is all that’s left of it! It’s getting so much easier!

I don’t even know how we got rid of all this but it was so easy:

  • Flat sheet – it’s new. We never use the flat ones.
  • Rainbow loom
  • Shirt
  • Black and Decker drill
  • Generic flashlight
  • Some other Black and Decker tool in a case – probably a drill. I didn’t even look.
  • 4 bras – all Victoria Secrets – hmm wonder if I could sell these on eBay?
  • 2 socks – no they don’t match
  • Gift bag – another one I’m tossing!
  • 10 hair things
  • Knitted hat
  • water bottle
  • crochet kit
  • 2 rulers
  • headphones
  • 1 slipper?
  • Lotion set
  • Metal leash – we’ve never had a dog
  • Baseball – no one ever played baseball
  • Sweater
  • Playstation 2 cord
  • Stuffed dog
  • Ironman toy
  • sweater

And a bunch more little small things! A lot of this is going to go directly into the garbage and some will be donated.

Were you able to work on a small area today?
