Mother Nature Is Causing Trouble in the Front Yard

Mother Nature knocked a big tree down on top of my camper

It seems like every time I start making progress on my yard, Mother Nature says, “Nope! Not gonna happen!”

Last weekend, shortly after I finished up everything I was planning on doing in the front yard, a wind advisory was issued. While I was worried about the dead tree in front falling over, I didn’t think too much of it.

There was another storm the week before that it made it through so I wasn’t really worried. I knew there was a chance it could come down but I didn’t want to think about it. The tree guys were supposed to be coming in a few days.

Well, the tree guys never came but the wind did and there went my tree! It landed right on top of my camper. I love my camper. Or loved anyways. The cost to fix it will probably be too much for me.

So I did the only thing that I could do in this situation. I covered it up with a big tarp and left it to deal with next year. 2020 has been stressful enough and now this. I’m really sad about my camper. Just another reason why you shouldn’t put maintenance things off too long.

It also broke the windshield on the kids’ truck and a tail light. It happened right around midnight and woke up most of the neighbors. It was so loud! There were a few stories about how peoples’ pets jumped 10 feet in the air.

Thank Goodness it didn’t hit any people or houses!

I ended up spending the rest of the day cleaning up the front yard again instead of working inside or on my eBay stuff and the wood still needs to be hauled away. It was a tall tree. Thankfully it wasn’t a wide tree also.

My trailer was finally empty and the spot where it’s going was ready but now I need to take it to my friend’s house again to drop off another load of wood. I was hoping to do that this weekend but I’m not sure yet. It’s supposed to rain later and who wants to do that in the rain? Not me! So, it might have to wait another week.

I need to clean up all the wood from the tree that fell over in my yard

This is just another lesson in life. Things are never going to be “done”. There will always be something to do. If it does get done, enjoy it for the moment because it’ll change quickly!
