Running Out of Time to Sell Our House

We were approved for the purchase of our new house as long as we sold the old one but we were rapidly running out of time to get it listed.

So far, we had uncovered the caving in wall in the bedroom, the unrecoverable carpets upstairs, holes in the bedroom doors, broken countertop and I was still struggling to get the painter to finish up the painting.

And we only had about two weeks left to get the house listed.

Our house, in good condition, was nearly impossible to sell. We tried telling our realtor that but the market was hot and he wasn’t worried, at first.

He was sure that it would sell quickly because most houses in our area did.

We were running out of time to get things ready.

I was still doing most of the packing by myself. Thinking about it brings back horrible memories of all the STUFF.

There were layers upon layers of STUFF. Every time that I thought I had a little pile to go through, it would turn into a mountain of things that had been hiding underneath.

Every time I thought a room was empty, I would find more.

Where was it coming from?

At first glance, when you’d walk in a room, it would look done and ready. But oh wait, there’s curtains on that window. Oops, there’s a small mirror behind that door. Ummm, there’s a few pictures still hanging here.

I’ve always said that it helps me to take pictures because I don’t see the stuff anymore. Well, even with very few things in a room, I still don’t see them apparently. I wonder if that’s something you can change?

The realtor was getting very nervous because if we couldn’t get it ready in time, the whole deal could fall through. We were just hanging on by a thread.

It had to start coming together soon.
